Anglers fishing Butternut lake are catching walleyes during low light conditiions in 8-15ft of water. Most of the fish are taken on tip-ups.Ice depths are over a foot and is fairly consistant. Many ice shacks are on the lake. Extremely cold temps have been in the area for the last 2 weeks and coupled with the wind have cause wind chills to approach -40!!!! Dress appropriately if you intend to be outside for any lenght of time.
The Flambeau river around the Oxbo area has produced walleyes and crappies. Caution should be taken when fishing the current areas in the river.
Good Luck Fishing.
