Ice Fishing Report, 12-13-08

Dave, Kalie and I headed out in search of some action for Kalie. Our first lake showed signs of bad ice, really soft and only 2-3 inches thick. After a few holes drilled and no signs of fish we played it safe and got off the lake.

Our second location (about 6-inches of ice) netted us some nice gills and crappies. The bite was slow according to the anglers who were leaving. We ended up downsizing and a locator was the needed tool to ice any fish.

Dave ended up with nine keepers between gills and crappies. For tip-ups, we had two flags and zero fish. The flags appeared to be your typical drop and run, leaving the minnow all chewed up.
