Default Night fishing during cold water period

After seeing that incredible night time fish from the St. Larry along with many other "edge of dark" fish we have boated during the cold water period, I tend to think that some of the bigger fish are feeding during first dark especially in areas with low and/or clear water. Our lack of moving any big fish for 3 days during the Holiday seems to reinforce that assumption..........

Our river temps have dropped much faster than normal this Fall and bait fish are still very abundant in water deeper than 4 feet........The daytime bite should pick back up as water temps drop, bait fish become more scarce and we finally get some higher and/or colored water flowing.

It is way too early to have all this snow piling up and we are barely in December.......could be a long winter.

I have always liked fishing dusk and into dark about the first 2 hrs especially for the eyes no matter what time of year it is and have had success doing so.
