Thread: "The Rock" is hard!

    Thumbs up "The Rock" is hard!

    Drove around yesterday and it's iced over shore to shore. The only open water is at the Buckhorn Bridge, but that's to be expected. There were four trucks in the Fish Lake access point on county G. Snug harbor is solid but no holes drilled yet. A friend of mine will be at "Pete" over the weekend so I will get some info on that posted as soon as I can. With night time temps forcast for the teens and low twenties it should firm up soon if we don't get a lot of snow cover.

    Keep a tight line!!!

    Hey Al;
    Nice to hear from you again. Musky closed yesterday so you will have to try for something else for a while. Keep us posted on ice conditions if you get a chance.

    I am going to head out tonight and tomorrow for some evening walleye action. I have never ice fished the lake before and don't plan on venturing too far out. Where's a good location for me to start? Is there a good night bite or am I wasting my time? Thanks guys!

    I don't think I would venture out on the lake just yet. The spot Al mentioned is where Klien Creek enters the lake. It is the bay by the Four Seasons Mini Mart on County Z.

    I gave it a shot yesterday 3-6pm with shiners. NO flags at all. Fished the launch by crappie point, north Buckhorn. I am going to try again, fatheads this time. I have been told there isn't a very good night bite for walleyes on Castle Rock. Any truth to this? I just moved from Fort Atkinson and have walleye fished Lake Koshkonong all my life. Night fishing has always been the most productive for walleyes there and many of the Madison Chain Lakes too. Just curious... There was 5" of solid ice where I was at.
