Our 2008 season ended with Kakagi (Crow) Lake holding out with low 40 degree water temperatures and ice forming in the shallow bays on Lake of the Woods.

The last couple deer hunting groups were successful with 4 deer from a group of 5 on a short hunting trip and 6 deer for 6 guys from our last group of the season. The bigger bucks were really moving late in the season this year. Normal has been for a strong rut in late October, not this year. Our earlier deer camp groups were selective and didn't have the great success rates, especial during the stretch of warmer 70 degree days.

Below are pictures of some of the deer from the last groups.

Huge neck on this 230 lbs buck counted as a "redneck 13".

Another great rack on this buck.

Last buck of the 2008 season.

And 6 for 6 - nice work!

Thank-you to all for making 2008 a great year at Boreal Bay Lodge!
