With an uncertain weather forecast, we decided to give it a shot anyways. Saturday we chased muskies with a fly rod. We had 4 fish up and managed to get a low-30’s fish into the net.

On Sunday, we did a multi-species day that started off with several immature bass, 2 walleye and a smallish pike. After 2 short rain events, we switched gears over to the Esox. After a couple hours of washing lures and several mini-weather fronts pushing thru, we decided to quit after 5 hours.

All 13 bass we caught were immature and not able to spawn yet. 6 years ago, 95% of those bass would have been larger adult fish. Over-harvesting of the adult bass population is alive and well here on the Allegheny. Very sad and very preventable!

Good luck and stay tuned!
