We decided to hunt big walleye yesterday with upsized hardbaits just in case an accidental musky wanted in on the action. After a tough morning, we finally found a few hungry walleye but nothing over 5.5 pounds. We also spent some time looking for a big trout but no takers.

Today will be a hardcore musky hunt with the hopes of the Fall bite finally picking up. Water temps are getting closer to normal and the river level is still running high.

    Good luck and stay tuned!

I finally got off the snide yesterday with a 36" musky, a result of taking time to fish weekends instead of working. Aside from losing a monster next to the boat in August I hadn't seen a musky since 2018.
Also caught some walleye trolling lighter tackle on the other side of the kayak and had a good sized walleye jump halfway out of the water after my musky lure. A quick cast upstream and the fish bit but came off about 10' from me.
