We set sail hoping to catch some bass/walleye on fly rods. The rainy windy conditions brought lots of vegetation into the river and scattered it throughout the water column which made for some very tough fishing. We did what we could but only netted 2 bass in 6 hours of fishing.

We are hoping things have cleared up overnight and will try the same program today. When we are only dealing with floating surface vegetation, we can usually do OK but the suspended stuff really seems to have a negative effect on bass/walleye especially when 85% of our casts came back dirty. Water temps are around 64 and the color is nice. We shall see how things look out there soon enough. Fingers are crossed.

Good luck and stay tuned!
