A slow morning for the first hour or two turned into a pretty good day of fishing. We stayed with the same technique from the previous few days and it kept producing fish. Most of the fish were short striking our baits just like most other mid to late-summer bass/walleye outings (when using artificial baits). We landed 13-15 bass and lost another 8-9 fish before getting them to the boat. Keeping them from jumping was crucial in actually landing them. A few really nice bass hit the bag. We only landed 1 legal walleye and 2 decent pike.

The big Canoe and Kayak races continue this weekend with the finish line set up behind the Betts Softball Complex.

Good luck this weekend and stay safe!
