Fishing action has remained decent despite the massive young of the year perch population swimming around and the continuing bug hatches that happen daily, not mayflys so much, but just plain bugs, all over the surface and several fish species feed on these. Most of the action, at least for my boat has come from either shallow weeds or over submerged laid down wood, in 6 to 8 foot of water. Invasion jigs tipped with either fatheads or 1/2 crawler are working equally as is soft plastics being rip jigged in these areas. Nice walleyes along with some dandy jumbo perch have been taken by this method. Three inch plastics such as Mr Twister or paddle tails have worked the best. Pink was the color yesterday as was salt and pepper colors.

Back out this morning for a 4 hour trip, will keep you posted.
