Thread: tail-waters trout

    Default tail-waters trout

    ive been hearing that they stocked a bunch more trout at the tail-waters. i haven't been up their in a couple weeks so im just going on what i hear. dose anyone have any info on this? ive looked at the pfbc site but no luck so im not sure if this is true.

    I have not heard much about the late stocking either. Sometimes there are just extra fish around and they get dumped in the river because it stays ice free year around.

    I will make a call today to see what I can find out.


    Might try calling 726-7475........Allegheny Field and Stream, the only tackle shop in town. They might have heard something.

    i talked to a buddy of mine last night and he said that its true, he was up there friday night, he said that the trout are all over the place. about 4 to 5" from what he said.

    I did find some info on the PFBC site a couple of months ago........we usually get 2 very large stockings during the year but the site only listed 1 stocking date for the Tailrace area and South to Warren.

    This "unpublished" stocking must have occurred after the stocking listings were published. Sounds like some "extra" fish had to go somewhere and we were lucky enough to get them.
