Saturday and Sunday's action remained very good, Saturday it was shallow water action as the walleye and crappie were in the weeds and shoreline brush, 3 to 5 foot was the key and a slow retrieve with 1/16th ounce Invasion jig tipped with either 1/2 crawler or fatheads. Sunday greeted my guests and I with a total turn around in weather conditions and wind direction, and very cool temps. Not knowing how the fish would react, we moved in a different direction into 8 and 9 foot over water on wind blown shorelines, this move really paid off as we found active fish in almost every stop we made. Once again, Invasion jigs and fatheads or 1/2 crawlers were used, no crappies were caught but we boated good number of pike, largest was 33 inches, also a good number of perch to go along with 3 nice limits of walleye. Best bite of the year came on a big cold front with NE winds blowing, just never know, like they say, best time to go fishing is when you have the chance to. Back out today, will keep you posted.
