Mike Sr. and 8-year old Mike Jr. just wanted to catch some fish to celebrate Mikie’s 8th birthday. It was a pretty good August day with cooler temps and overcast skies. We hooked 8-10 bass and landed about half of them and Mikie was able to catch his largest smallie and his first walleye. The smallie was in the 3.5 pound range and so was the walleye.

We fished for 6.5 hours and then Mikie got to have his first lesson in how to drive a boat. He was a happy camper!

Chris and I are heading out this morning looking for muskies as Chris is cashing in on his Father’s Day gift. It will be my last day of fishing this week before my boat goes into the shop.

The river is a little lower than it has been the past few weeks.

Stay tuned and good luck!
