With a recent storm muddying up some local tributaries, we decided to fish the stained river water last nite hoping it would help us trick a few big walleye into eating. The plan did not work as we only fished 3 of the previously scheduled 5 hours. The stain wasn’t the real problem. The floating weeds made it difficult to get “clean” casts back to the boat. When fishing a tough bite, the last thing you want to see is 50% of your casts coming back with grass/weeds attached to your lures. The lack of efficient fishing was the main reason we chose to cut the evening short. We hadn’t even caught an accidental bass to that point.

No fishing again this weekend but a full week of bass/musky fishing coming up.

Good luck and stay tuned!
