We launched at daybreak trying to beat the heat with plans to fish from 6 until noon. The afternoon bite has been tough with low clear water, sunny skies and zero wind. We netted 12-14 bass with 5-6 coming unbuttoned and 2 pike under 30”. A wire that engages my directional motor on my trolling motor wore thin and we lost that feature so I spent the last hour and a half steering with my hands to finish up the morning. I always keep a back-up trolling motor for such an occasion so I made the switch last nite and we are ready to go this morning chasing the same 2 species.

Water temps are between 68 and 74 depending on proximity to the dam.

Stay tuned and good luck!
