After nearly two weeks of pounding the water, finally have a weekend off to relax and even post a fishing report. Walleyes are still on a fairly good bite, with the exception of severe cold fronts, we all know what can happen then. Shallow water fishing has still been good but that all depends on wind direction, cloudy vrs sunny days, etc. Wind blown shorelines, emerging weeds, brush piles, and log jams have all been good, 1/16th ounce Invasion jigs tipped with 1/2 crawler or large fatheads have so far outproduced leeches. The shallows are still producing very good numbers of big gills and jumbo perch, best bet for them is a small slip bobber rigged with a long shank light wire hook tipped with a 2 inch piece of crawler or small leeches, can't turn down a good panfish dinner when their cruising the shallows. Have to mention the pike and smallies, although I haven't been targeting smallmouth, we have been getting a good number of them along with big numbers of pike while working the shorelines and weeds. Talking about deeper water, 12 to 16 foot depths have also been productive, especially on the clear bright days or cold front conditions, takes a little patience working the deeper water, but it can pay off with some nice fish. Here as in shallow water, a weedless jig is a must as is a slip bobber rig due to all the submerged wood. Bait choice is pretty much as show water fishing, 1/2 crawler and large fatheads, but on a 1/8th once jig.

Good luck, see ya on the water.
