After arriving to our “hot spot” only to find some very lethargic fish, we made a big 8-mile run upriver hoping to turn things around. Within the first 30 yards of fishing, we netted 2 very nice bass and saw another pushing 5-6 pounds trailing behind. We managed to grind out about 11-13 more nice bass and 2-4 wannabees in 5 hours of fishing. We caught 3 undersized walleye and 2 really nice pike too.

I am not sure what is up with all of the floating algae/moss but it usually doesn’t start-up until late-August. What a pain in the butt!

Looks like we will be chasing walleye on Saturday and TBA for Sunday. Stay tuned.

Good luck and stay safe!
