Action the past two weeks has slowly been improving as water temps dropping and water levels slowly rising. Walleyes are being taken in 10 to 14 foot of water over submerged stumps and also rocks and boulders. Invasion jigs tipped with large fatheads have been the most productive. A very slow retrieve has been much more productive than a fast jigging retrieve. Not an aggressive bite, just an added weight on the end of the line is mostly what you feel, if that weight moves toward you during your retrieve, set the hook, it's most likely a walleye. Panfish on the other hand has been nothing short of awesome, crappies and bluegills have been hot. Vertical jigging deep brush, stumps, and cribs, has been the ticket. A small 1/32nd or 1/16th ounce round head jig tipped with a small piece of crawler or redworm works the best for the gills, while artificial plastics like Strike King-Mr. Crappie Joker, Kalin's Crappie Scrub, Apex Shad, and Trigger Boot Tail Minnow has produced more crappie than live bait.
Just a reminder that the bag limit on panfish on the Flowage is 10, and a 10 inch minimum size on crappie. For those who happen to like rock bass, keep all you catch, no bag limit on them. Smallmouth and pike has been very slow, boated two smallies the last two weeks and no pike.

Open water season is narrowing down and plan to be out there as much as possible, several open days left on the calendar, plans are to put the boat away the end of October.
