Fishing action this past week has remained on the good side, especially for walleye. The best bite has come from scattered cabbage and coontail patches in 5 foot or deeper along with 10 to 12 foot over submerged wood. Method of fishing these areas are pretty much the same with the only difference is weight of the jig. When fishing the cabbage or coontail, 1/16th ounce Invasion jigs tipped with large fatheads,1/2 crawler, or large leeches all produced, same as the deep wood, only difference here is that we have been using 1/8th ounce jigs. Blue, black, and purple worked the best with leeches while brighter colors like antifreeze, chartreuse, and orange work the best with fathaeads and crawlers. Method of retrieve was slow jigging or just plain slow retrieve, not a big thump from the eyes, just a light pickup with added weight on the end of your line is reason to set the hook.

Back out this week for a few trips, will keep you posted.
