The last two weeks has seen it's ups and downs with the walleye action, but for the most part it's been pretty good. Even during the big mayfly hatch, walleyes, perch, smallies, and pike were all on a decent bite. The fish we caught for the most part came from the shallow wood or weeds, made no difference if it was bright sky's or cloudy, I believe it's the young of the year perch seeking shallow water for protection that's keeping a good deal of fish active in these areas. Might add that the last few days has seen very good action on the outside edges of deep weeds, mostly cabbage and coontail, mixed bag here with smallies, pike, and the occasional walleye. No preference for the fish as far a live bait goes, Invasion jigs tipped with either leeches, 1/2 crawler, and large fatheads have all been working. Carry extra ice along to put in your minnow bucket and also your cooler holding your crawlers and leeches, can't beat fresh lively bait. Those searching for crappie and bluegills, crappies have moved to deeper wood structure and bluegills are still scattered but will make a move to deeper wood shortly.

Open schedule for those interested, fish are still biting.
