This past week has seen some pretty good action from most species of fish, walleyes and perch hanging out in the shallow weeds and tucked in the shallow wood was the ticket for the better part of the week. Invasion jigs tipped with 1/2 crawler was the key to boating them, might note that this shallow bite was by far the best with cloud cover and a chop on the water. The last couple of days the walleye action slowed some with the clear sky's, hot temps, flat water, and the dreaded mayfly hatch, they are floating and popping up everywhere. On a positive note, the bluegills are on their beds and in the shoreline weeds and wood and in big numbers and are being pursued by big smallies, something to check out when the walleye bite is slow.

No trip today Happy 4th of July to all my friends, God Bless America!
