Oak Haven guests enjoy catching many different kinds of fish.

Not only was our biggest Muskie in eleven years landed this spring (52 inches, Bryan Feda), several others over 30 inches have been landed. Chris Pistone (48 inches)...Dayton Mosher (43 inches)...Jim Kohl (41 1/4 inches)...Bill Mittelstadt (37 1/2 inches) and Nancy Kohl (31 inches).

Al Henkle recently took the lead in our big Pike contest. His 40 inch, 20 pound Northern tops our charts for 2018. Our big Walleye leader is Joe Hill (28 inches). Monty Hoefflin is 2nd at 27 inches, then young Kamden Mosher is 3rd with the nice 26 incher he landed recently. Owen Brummer's 24 3/4 inch Walleye stands in 4th place.

Kleyton Palumbo recently got on the charts with the 13 inch Crappie he brought in. Our big Crappie leader continues to be Kathy Thiele at 13 5/8 inches. (Remember - we measure fish with the mouth closed and the tail squeezed.) Tim Treager's 13 1/2 remains in 2nd place. Keven Larsen and Kathy Thiele each scored a 13 1/4, and Bill Thiele landed a 13 1/8 Crappie.

Reed Hoeppner's 21 1/4 inch Largemouth Bass remains on top while Mark Woldruff's 20 1/4 incher is 2nd. Rick Martens is 3rd at 19 1/8, Roger Hoeppner and Mark Woldruff are tied for 4th at 18 1/2. Others include Mark Beltz (18 3/8) and Al Dalziel (18 1/8 and 18)

Logan Frye recently took the lead in the giant Bluegill/Sunfish/Pumpkinseed contest with the 10 1/4 inch jumbo that he landed. Stan Belser is 2nd at 10 1/8, Lily Juergens got on the charts with her 10 1/8 incher. Mark Woldruff and Stan Belser each landed a 10 inch Bluegill.

Charlotte Wyant got her name in our top ten when she landed a Perch that measured 11 5/8 inches. But the leader remains Bob Hill who scored a 13 incher. Alan McNellis is 2nd with a 12 5/8 incher, Nicole Podschweit is third at 12 1/8. Our giant Rock Bass for 2018 so far is 12 inches, landed by Roger Hoeppner. Kathy Johanning and Kain Luensman are tied for 2nd at 11 5/8.

Our giant Bullhead so far was caught by Shannon Daub (14 1/4 inches). We have four Bowfin/Dogfish entered into our 2018 contest. Mark Woldruff leads the way at 29 inches. Next it's Alan Pangelinan at 27 inches, Steve Houliston at 26 inches and Logan Frye at 23 1/2 inches.

Fishing has been pretty good for those that have been here before. New guests to the area can struggle a bit until they start to figure things out. The fish don't jump in the boat. So your job, when you stay with us, is to figure out how to catch them. Not a bad job!
