Thread: Lake Mendota, Delavan Lake, and Lake Geneva Fishing Reports

  1. Default Lake Mendota, Delavan Lake, and Lake Geneva Fishing Reports

We are catching good numbers of bass and pan fish on a few presentation including split shot/hook, drop shot, and Tommy Harris lipless rattle baits while casting over deep weeds.

Lake Mendota smallmouth bass were found last week in scattered deep weeds and along weed edges on mid lake structures. Drop shot finesse worms have been by far the most productive presentation, along with casting lip less rattle baits. Walleyes have been caught off deep water mid lake structure while pulling lindy rig/live bait and trolling lead core and crank baits.

Delavan Lake, Both species of bass are located in the deep weeds at fifteen to twenty plus foot depth range, catching them by drop shot plastics or split shot/night crawler and leeches for multi species action! When the bass are feeding well on a Tommy Harris lipless rattle bait, in tough conditions a drop shot four inch finesse worm green pumpkin seed color or a split shot rigged night crawler or leech all have been a productive presentation in 12 to 27 ft of water.

Lake Geneva, Bass and bluegills are located along deep scattered weed at 15 to 24 foot of water depth. If you're looking for numbers of pan fish a split shot and piece of crawler is hard to beat, go with a whole one for more bass action. For the best bass bite we have found the drop shot rig with a finesse work catches more, and larger fish.
Boy we had a lot of the really big fun with Dan Bragg, Jerry McCormick and Kurt Linda Stier. They caught more than 25 game, both large and small mouth bass, pikes, and a bunch of different pan fish on their morning trip on Delavan Lake.

Here is a review just sent to me from Dan.
