Thread: Lake Geneva, Delavan Lake Fishing Reports

  1. Default Lake Geneva, Delavan Lake Fishing Reports

The bite on Delavan remains steady but slower than recent weeks. We are catching between 10-15 game fish per trip, however the size and numbers are down a bit from prior weeks.
Largemouth bass fishing has been good. For the weed line bite, fish the inside turns on deep water points, such as the Concrete point and Willow Point. They’ve been easily caught on split shot rigged night crawlers. The slower the presentation the better for this bite.
Bluegill fishing has been fantastic. I’ve been catching them in 14-15 ft of water or in 20 ft of water outside the weed line. The best success is coming off of a small split shot fished 6-12 inches off bottom. purple and red plastic wedges
Crappie fishing has been good. The fish are suspended on the outside of the weed line, 6-7 ft down in 20 ft of water. The best success has been slow trolling 1/32 oz plastics or casting them.

The bite on Lake Geneva Largemouth is good in those deep weed 12 -18 ft of water. The best success has been split shot rigged night crawlers or wack o worming. Smallmouth bass has been better the past week. We have found success using lindy rigged night crawler while drop shot rigging four inch finesse worms in 18-27 ft. of water along steep drop offs with deep weeds and rock mixtures being the best.

Bluegill fishing has been fantastic. I’ve been catching them in just above the weeds in 14- 15 ft of water or in 0 ft of water suspended down 12 - 20 ft. over the basin. The best success is coming with a small hook and split shot using leaf worm fished 6-12 inches off bottom. Last but not least slow trolling purple, pink, and red plastic wedges it's a good way to find a few of those suspended crappies.
School is almost in session have you taken your kids fishing?
