Well folks it's June and fishing has been going very good. We hit a few speed bumps now and then with cold fronts but overall fishing has been excellent. We are starting to see some green weed now and walleyes are moving into them. The bite should just get better and better. I am still doing best on jig and minnow combinations with medium chubs being the ticket. There is some activity also taking place with slip bobbers and leeches. Crawlers are also starting to produce a few fish. When heading out be prepared to try different things. The transition to meat is beginning. If weeds are sparse move to the timber when around, fish have been favoring the heaviest timber spots. If you not snagging up on a regular basis, your not in heavy enough wood. Northerns have been rampaging, especially since this last cold front. These toothy critters will hit just about anything at the moment. We also started finding post spawn crappie in the new weed and some nice Perch. Look for the next few weeks to really heat up for fishing as we begin the March to the Mayfly hatch. This will be one of the strongest bites of the year. Until next time,
Keep A Tight Line and Good Luck out there.
