Andy and I went looking for big muskies yesterday morning but only managed to put a 41" in the net. Our plan was to pound on some deeper bait pods that had slid deeper in the column due to the recent cold snap. It was 45 degrees at 7am when we made our first casts and only saw 1 fish, which ended up hitting the bag at 10:10am. The fish came in super hot on my double tailed mag dawg but flared off at the last minute.....presumably spooked either by my movements or the boat. We continued working a few deeper bait pods and came back on that fish 20 minutes later. Since Andy was in the front of the boat and had 'permission' to throw back on her with a different lure, the fish ate on the very first cast. Andy had gotten hung up on a weed edge and in the process of snapping his bait free, the fish smashed his mag dawg. If only all fish were that hot!

We quit at 1:30. End of story.
