    Thumbs up 8-13

Adam booked a morning trip on "Pete" for this morning. We left the County Park at 6 am and the lake was like a piece of glass, and stayed that way way the entire morning. We stopped at our first spot on the buoy line in 15-18 fow. We baited the dead rods with large fat-heads and set the depth at about a foot off bottom and started getting the jig rods baited. My dead rod had a bend in it , so I grabbed it and set the hook on a nice 18" walleye, before we boated that one, Adams rod tip went down , and we boated a nice 13" crappie. After that it was non-stop action from "shorties", white bass, and catfish. We moved a little farther south on the buoy line and boated a bunch more "shorties". We set-up to troll along the dike , but the algae was so thick that when you put the bait in the water it just laid on top until you put pressure on the line. There is also a huge lake fly hatch happening on the south end as well. We moved farther north to Long View Point and set up to troll to finish the morning. The white Bass and "shorties were everywhere. We finished there with 1 in the slot, one "keeper", 1 nice crappie, well over thirty short, a dozen white bass, and the usual cats. When these lakes get glass smooth the bite tends to get pretty tough, although you can keep busy swatting lake flies!

    Keep a tight line!!!
