    Default Question on water level

Will be heading up next weekend, can anyone share the water level? It is hard for me to understand the link that shows discharge rate, etc... Just curious of approximate level.

    Thanks!!! :-)

Lake is down two feet from full pool. Down a foot in the last two weeks.

As of this morning the TFF water level was at 1569.90 feet above sea level, which is down just over 2' from what is considered "full-pool" of 1572 feet above sea level. The current water level is about average for this time of year.

The discharge rate (water leaving the TFF and going downstream into the Flambeau River) was 1172 cubic feet per second (CFS). This discharge rate is fairly high for this time of year, mostly due to all the rain we have had all summer. The discharge rate varies widely, and has been over 3000 CFS during spring snow melt, and as low as 225 CFS during the drought several years back.

For detailed daily water level and discharge readings click on the link below to go to the Xcel Energy web page. Xcel manages TFF water levels under an agreement with WI-DNR.

Hope this helps, if you have more questions, please post them.
