Opening Day of the Walleye season is just two days away. For the last 4 weeks or so we've enjoyed unseasonably warm weather, such as 70-80 degrees and sunny. How many of you would like Opening Day to be warm and sunny?

Forget about it.

Mother Nature is once again reminding us that she's in charge. For Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14...look for a high temperature of 49 degrees...and that should be for about a half hour starting at 3 PM on Saturday. Expect winds 15 to 20 mph. It should be cloudy, which will keep the air temp cool/cold. Don't be shocked if you see snow flurries in the early morning.

I suggest boots, a coat, plus rain gear tops and bottoms. Bring your warm gear. You can always take them off. I do not suggest you go out in a boat wearing a sweatshirt and gym shoes. Shorts? Don't be the person who says "take me back, I'm cold."

Have more fun and catch more Walleyes...be prepared for adverse weather.
