Default Trucks and mpg/ is there a best one for towing boats ?

I had read an article about ford's f150 eco-engine getting only 10 mpg while towing a trailer. My 2009 suburban gets approx. 13 mpg while towing my boat. I have traveled with a friend who drives a ram with the hemi and we got about 16 miles mpg while towing his boat(exactly like my boat.)

is there pickup or suv that gets better mpg than the ram with the hemi engine while towing a boat ? I have no interest in a truck with a diesel engine.

Driving at 50-60mph saves a fortune in fuel. You can grow a beard at the same time. Win win.

Not many (any?) are going to beat 16 and still tow a boat.My Tundra does but at the bottom of the hill I have to turn it back on.

My 2014 5.3 chevy got about 14 towing a 18.25ft skeeter to Illinois and back.
