Yesterday's 1/2 day morning trip was with Charlie from Florida, and Bob and Gladys from North Carolina. They are all up here for a camping get together at the fairgrounds. We got on the water around 7 a.m., and decided to try the "hands-on" approach. We casted 1/4 oz. chartreuse jigs tipped with 1/2 a crawler in 7 to 10 feet of water along a weedline. We managed 2 keepers in the first hour, but then decided to try trolling for a while. We went up north where we've been catching fish the past few weeks trolling crawler harnesses, but that bite was non-existent yesterday. We tried 3 different spots, but the fish were not biting. We then went back to our jigging presentation for the last hour of the trip and ended up getting 6 more keepers and some undersized fish. I thought the bite would have been much better yesterday after the strong south wind we had on Wednesday afternoon. The water was clearing up quite a bit before we came in, and we could actually see groups of walleyes swimming along the weeds.
