The first musky I ever caught was when I was 14 years old in 1988. My Dad, grandpa, and I were fishing Sweeney Lake up east of Minoqua, WI. It wasn't going so good (we had just started fishing Musky in the year prior). I got sick of it, and put on a Foxy jig to try to catch bass. A few casts later...my jig stopped dead in it's tracks and I had what turned out to be a 36" Musky on. We released it, and my Dad said, "I can't believe that just happened." I also caught a 45" off the dock on Canada as I tuned some baits while we waited for the high winds to subside after we got blown off the lake. You just never know what is going to happen, but I do know that you can't catch them if you don't have any lures in the water!
