What a difference a day makes and the weather too, cloudy sky's with the threat of rain had the walleye on a pretty good bite despite the mayfly hatch that's going on. Using 1/16th ounce Reeves weedless jigs tipped with either 1/2 crawler or large leeches, my guest and I found some aggressive eyes in 6 feet of water over lots of submerged wood and boated 6 eyes, 3 that were keepers along with a small pike. Moving on to try a few wind blown woody bays we found 3 more good keepers along with a few more throwbacks and a nice smallie. I checked out the belly contents of the walleye and found them stuffed with mayflies, the largest of the bunch also had a 6 inch perch in it, this one was really hungry.

Back out today, will keep you posted.
