    About robins - I shot this one on January 24 at a nature area down the road from my house in the Twin Cities, and it was one of a couple dozen I saw that day. Most of them do go further south for winter, but the movement is a response to food supply, not temperature, and it's more of a spreading out than a true migration. Some of them winter as far north as southern Canada. But plenty of other signs are in place. Some of the eagles in our area have already hatched chicks, and I saw a couple flocks of Sandhill Cranes flying over last weekend.
