Made a trip to Sand Bay yesterday. Found out, after about an hour of jigging different spoons(that have all worked before) that if you don't have the correct color, and weight, Jigging Rapala, you're toast. The 5/16 oz. in black and gold was the hot ticket. I landed 4 nice whitefish before I got into a battle that lasted 20 minutes of give and take, with over 7 long runs that came close to spooling me. The last run ended with my 8# fluorocarbon leader giving up the ghost. By then my hands were so frozen, it took over 15 minutes inside my jacket to restore feeling. I had the fish close to the hole several times, only to have it dive away again. We did not have another hit on any other jigging Rapala. I have to give credit to my ultralight Diawa reel for hanging in, and the drag stayed smooth after all the abuse. I'm going back, with new lures, and a bigger reel. I'll keep you posted. Rich
