The muskie fishing has been hit and miss. One day we will get two and the next day we may only see a few. The water temps are remaining stagnant at 66-69 degrees. On the larger lakes it almost seems like the fish have been in limbo. Some fish remain over the deeper water and off of the breaks. Others are in the cabbage beds. I am hopeful that the upcoming warmer weather will drive those fish to the cabbage beds so they can finally be caught casting consistently. A steady consistent warm up would be ideal.
The lakes that I fish have higher than normal water levels. The increase has created new cabbage beds and also areas with sand grass. We have pulled many fish out of these new growth areas. You may want to put some effort in exploring this year.
I have a handful of openings in late July. The month of August is booked. Fall dates are available. Please contact me if you are serious about booking a trip.
