Back out on Sunday with my guest,Don, and we had some pretty good action. With the approaching cold front moving in, we opted for a little slower type of fishing and we both set up with slip bobber rigs. Using plain 1/16 ounce jigs tipped with either 1/2 crawler or large leeches, we spent our morning hours fishing over coontail and submerged wood. This paid off real well as we found several eyes along with a good number of smallies and perch. Not just the wind blown shorelines produced, but so did some of the calm bays that had good weed growth. The fish were tucked pretty tight in these weeds but a lively crawler or leech dangling over their heads done the trick.

Back out tomorrow, will keep you posted.
