We fishing in Vilas and Oneida counties has remained consistent. We are getting mixed bags of walleyes, crappies, perch and pike mixed in on any given day. With cooler temps the fish are still very weed related and have not started to make any of their deep water transitions so far. Fish are being taken in 3-12 feet of water depending on the body of water and time of day. Days of clouds and wind the fish have definitely been more active and will go shallow the sunny calm days look for fish just on the deepest edges and they are less active. The bait of choice has still been minnows with leeches a close second on any given day. There seems to be a lot of minnows still hanging out in the shallow waters which are holding these fish. Tight lines to everybody in the coming weeks as fishing will only continue to improve.
