I was out yesterday with my daughter Abbi. I was approaching one of my always stop spots, when I saw another boat sitting on it. A hard left after a quick strategy thought and I was at a small sandy bay. This is my first day up this trip and I had only one spot fished so far. I worked the area fairly well, not a lot of confidence this year, and while casting out of the bay I get a nice hit. A feisty battle and a fine net job by my daughter, produces a 43.5! I am very excited and pleased, as I was pretty much hoping for a chance at ONE fish. A couple of photos and an explosive release, so I think what the heck re align and finish the spot. I had a cast or two more to go. Two maybe three cast later ( 3- 4 ) total, smash.....crazy battle, fish straight under the boat, a couple of power dives, a dicey netting and a 45.5" in the boat! What a great 10 to 15 minutes in total. You just never know up here!
