Tuesdays trip was canceled, but I was back out Wednesday and the fishing was great. With fairly clear skies and a slight east wind, my guest Roger and I started out working a 10 foot deep sand bar and came up empty here. Our next move was to deeper water, 15 to 17 foot deep over scattered submerged stumps and we had very good action. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with fatheads, we had a good number of bites but most all were short hits with no fish, we then switched to 1/2 crawlers and had instant success. Working an large area back and forth for a couple of hours produced 14 eyes, 6 of which we kept that ranged from 16 to 19 inches, and also kept 3 jumbo perch. We then tried a little drifting over shallow mud with slip bobber rigs in search of perch but only managed to find small ones.

Back out today, will keep you posted.
