Saturday finally brought a little relief with a good south wind blowing along with slightly overcast conditions. These winds finally got the surface water churned up and had the walleye, smallies and perch on a roll. My guest for the day, Virginia, and I using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with fatheads, started out on a 10 foot deep sand hump and here we boated a 23 incher on the first cast, but as luck would have it, that was the first and only fish on this spot and we changed plans after 20 minutes working this area. Moving on to some wind blown shorelines, we found a decent amount of active eyes, smallmouth and jumbo perch working the outside edges of newly emerging weeds, We picked up 4 more nice eyes, 3 jumbos and several smallies in these areas. Moving on to try even shallower water, we worked some shallow reeds with mostly 1/2 crawlers and ended up catching our last good keeper eye along with 8 more jumbo perch and several throwback smaller ones.

Back out today if weather permits, not looking so good right now, will keep you posted.
