Well Memorial weekend on Pelican Lake was spectacular. The weather was above average temperatures and the fish were active! With light and variable winds for most of the weekend, fishermen we able to take advantage of all corners of the lake. We saw late last week a few crappies beginning to come in then as the weekend progressed, we began seeing baskets of them. Fishermen were finding them in the pencil reeds in shallow water fishing with beetle spins during the former part of the day. We also saw several long stringers of northern pike, many slot limit large and smallmouth bass and Memorial Day morning one of the resident camping guests brought in a 28inch walleye. Just a wonderful weekend all around and the perfect way to begin the fishing season in Orr, MN!
