We finally got the warm weather we have been waiting for and it really jump started the fishing. Fishing had been pretty decent even before this warming trend but the action has clearly picked up. Over the weekend we caught mixed bags of walleye, northern, and perch. Lots of undersized walleyes but a fair amount of keepers as well. Several northern in the lower 30" size range. We didn't target crappies but from talking to several other fishermen who did target them, reports were that they also were activated by the warm and sunny temps. We caught all of our fish on jigs and fathead minnows in water less than 10' near brush or weeds. The forecast is for warm temps to continue so I expect the good fishing to continue. Look for crawlers to start producing soon.
