    Default Walleye Fishing

After a long brutal winter, and a late ice out we are back on the water. The Walleye opener was in one work great. The weather was warm and sunny with a slight breeze. We caught eight fish all in the slot from 20 1/8 to 25 inches. No shore lunch but fun catching the bigger fish.

Fishing has been steady all week with a good walleye chop of 15 mph winds. Fished the wind blown shorelines in 5 to 9 feet of water with jigs and spot tailed shiners. Shiners were a hot item as there were none available in the Walker bait shops. They are now available in Walker. Word of advise, with the fish in the shallows anglers must be careful not to spook the fish by flying back up to make a new drift.

    Good luck, Murph

    Default Walleye Fishing

In the mean time while the water is high and fast and the walleye are hard to find, the cat fishing has been good, reguardless if you care to eat or clean them they are a blast to catch.
