Recent warming temperatures have the larger area lakes looking like the ice is ready to go. But we had a really cold winter and ice on the lakes is/was thicker than normal.

Ten day forecast calls for highs around 45-53 but overnight lows to remain in the 27-34 range.

I have spoke with a few guides and a couple of others who I consider reliable, and it looks like the ice will be out before the Walleye Opener, which is May 10th.

My ice out prediction is May 7th.

Hope to see you this spring, summer or fall.

Thanks.
