deck material
I had my wood front deck replaced with a heavy gauge aluminum panel. Lighter, no future rotting, took the carpeting well. Will not soak up water like wood does. After two seasons it has served me well so far.
In the areas I needed to use wood I got a product called PLYDEK from Overtons http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...5-each&i=76127
Along with being marine grade it is treated to prevent rot. when I got mine they had free shipping so that was a good saving. I had half inch in the boat originally but went with 3/4 for more strength. One thing to remember is to coat the aluminum runners where they touch the wood so corrosion will no occur. Wish I would have done the whole thing with aluminum but in my case it would not work.
