Thread: Need a new bait name

  1. #1

Default Need a new bait name

Ok, so I've got a new crankbait coming out this spring and we don't have a name for it yet. I don't want to post pictures yet because true production won't happen for another month. It's a crankbait, twitchbait, trolling bait all in one. Actually the only guys that saw it were Ray Perry and Fidler last September on a guide trip. I need a name and fast since the paperwork right now says "Twitchy" for the name. I'm not sold on that but it will do for now. Let's here some ideas for names......

    Murphy's Law
Web definition: humorous axiom stating that when a musky bites this bait anything that can go wrong for the musky will go wrong. But will be released in good health.

I may have modified the definition a bit.

So far I like impulse the best. I know there are bass baits with that name but nothing that I can think of off the top of my head in the muskie industry. Thanks so far. Keep em' coming.

    The Emulator
In computing, an emulator is hardware or software or both that duplicates (or emulates) the functions of one computer system (the guest) in another computer system (the host), different from the first one, so that the emulated behavior closely resembles the behavior of the real system (the guest).
Translated: the thing looks and acts like a baitfish in different ways.

I'm sure I could be much more creative if I had a few prototypes in my box.

    Here's a few bad suggestions:
    DoubleT C
    Mr. Lippy
    The Outlaw
    The Judge
    The Erratic-ator
    Divin' Ty
    Cranky Ty
Sennett Slasher (Seems like somebody already makes a slasher...)
    Pro-ducer
    Reactivator
    Ty-em-up
    Tyed Up
    Down and Dir-TY

Ok, that better be it from me for a while.

Curleytail, I like some of those. That's why I ask you guys. I suck at this. Emulator is good too and Spazz,.....well that's just plain fun.

Since it's an all around bait, that targets fish in most of the fishing formats....."Sniper".

The "Sniper" is cool. I'm going to start making a list of the ones I like on Monday of next week and narrow it down.

Ty, If you end up choosing Sniper, then your next bait should be called the Assassin… nothing better than a word that has a childhood swearword in it twice!
