I fished on the only nice day last week with my buddy Mark and we caught some nice crappie. Most of the fish we caught were 10 1/2 to 11 inches. We didn't catch tons of them but enough to keep us going all afternoon. The morning was slow for us though. We tried the west side and found a few but not big numbers. I drilled some holes over in Blueberry Lake and it was like I drilled into a geyser. Water and air shot out really hard. Scared the bajesus out of me. The water shot five or six feet over my head. I was soaked. Lots of air under the ice from natural springs or just fluctuating water temps. After that I was afraid to drill in that area. I wasn't in danger, just getting tired of getting soaked. We did get one 12 inch crappie on the west side but pretty slow over there. Not sure where those fish went. Maybe when the weather gets nicer I'll do more scouting around. The best crappie fishing is still ahead. If anyone wants to get out give me a call.
