    Default Janruary 30th fishing report

I had a group of three out yesterday and we fished crappie all day. The morning was tough for us but we did catch some in the afternoon. The crappie were pretty slow moving but just a plain old jig and waxworm did the trick. Plastics didn't catch many at all. Most of our action was at around 3pm.

    Good luck,

Ty, do you ever use a Swedish Pimple tipped with a spike or waxy or even a minnow ? Many years ago, I landed a personal best crappie through the ice on my local lake with a Pimple tipped with a minnow on a single hook. Crappie hit it on the drop, the line went slack and I said, "Wow". Just wondered if they work up there.

    Robert,
I sure do. Mostly tipped with waxies but I do use minnows if I know there are larger crappies around.
