Our Giant Walleye for 2013 was landed by Steve Houliston. Steve landed a 29 incher on May 14th. His fishing buddy Chris Frank landed our second biggest Walleye the same day, a 28 1/2 incher. Jerry Klemme finished 3rd with the 28 1/4 inch Walleye he landed on June 17th. Jared Wittmer landed a 27 1/2 incher on August 16th. On May 14th Chris Frank also landed a 27 incher which finished in 5th place. Sixth place went to Carter Bendickson when he landed a 26 7/8 inch Walleye on July 21st. Our top ten Walleyes were between 25 3/4 inches and 29 inches.

Oak Haven's Giant Musky for 2013 was landed by Tim Richey. His 41 incher was conquered on September 18th. Second place went to Calvin Rooke, who landed a 38 incher on August 30th. Chuck Wyant was 3rd with a 34 1/2 incher that he caught on July 18th. Cuda McCune finished 4th when he landed a 29 incher on September 8th. Numerous large followers and strikes were reported.

The Big Pike contest was won by Mitch Boedicker. He landed a 38 inch Northern on September 8th. Roger Hoeppner finished second when he landed a 34 7/8 inch Pike On September 11th.

Don Weaver took the Largemouth Bass title with the 20 1/4 inch monster that he landed on June 14th. Reed Hoeppner came in 2nd with a20 incher, caught on June 9th. Rick Martens caught a 19 3/4 incher on September 8th. Lynn Wagler finished 4th with the 19 3/8 inch lunker that she landed on May 27th. Dean Rodriguez finished 5th. Dean landed a 19 incher on the 4th of July. Sixth place ended in a tie. Roger Hoeppner landed a 18 3/4 incher on June 8th and then Akio Toby landed a 18 3/4 inch Largemouth on August 27th.

Our Giant Crappie contest was a great one. Bob Thiele landed a sweet 15 inch Crappie on June 3rd. His monster was the biggest we've seen at Oak Haven in 7 years. And remember, we close the mouth when we measure fish for our contest. Great Crappie Bob! We had a tie for 2nd place. Bill Thiele landed a 14 1/2 incher on June 7th and then Jason Haag landed a 14 1/2 incher two days later. Eddie Houi's 14 1/8 inch Crappie was landed on June 2nd. Then we had a tie at 14 inches. Andrew Lampereur landed his on June 19th and Brian Graber landed his on August 11th. Our top ten Crappies were all between 13 3/4 and 15 inches.

Our biggest Perch of the year was caught by 4 year old Jaxun Pohlman on August 11th. Jaxun reeled in a nice 12 1/2 incher. Kyle Richey landed a 12 3/8 incher on September 18th and then Kyle caught another 12 3/8 inch Perch three days later. Kara Scholl caught a 12 3/8 inch Perch on September 1st. Maddie Larson and Darrell Fowles were next at 12 1/4 inches. All of our top ten Perch were 12 inches or bigger.

Speaking of Jaxun Pohlman, he had quite a day on August 11th. Besides our biggest Perch, Jaxun also landed the biggest Sunfish of the year the same day. His 10 1/2 incher topped the charts for 2013. On September 3rd Vicki Nichols landed a 10 1/4 inch Sunfish to finish 2nd. Andy Burns caught a 10 1/8 incher on August 9th. We had a 4-way tie at ten inches between Alex Kisling, Kathy Johanning, Conrad Johanning and Austin Becker.

Our Rock Bass title goes to Eddie Houi. He landed a 12 incher on June 5th. We had a tie for 2nd place at 11 3/4 inches between Matthew McCarty and Chase Rygg. We also had a tie at 11 1/2 inches between Brianna Brabec, Luke Hoeppner and Bob Thiele.

Finally our Giant Bullhead title was won by Jason Mohs. His monster 14 1/4 incher was landed on August 21st. Steven Stoll finished 2nd with the 14 incher that he landed on May 27th. Jeremy Mohs came in 3rd with a 13 7/8 incher.
